VanVed vs SurveyMonkey
for Surveys
Why businesses choose VanVed over SurveyMonkey
No response cap, no per-response overage and no export paywall: the raw data is the tenant's own and a CSV is one click on every plan. A response can carry the ticket, booking, membership or event registration it was collected against, so feedback sits next to the record it is about rather than in a separate analytics product.
Capability by capability
Every row below is what our 2026 research found — including the rows we lose.
| Capability | VanVed | SurveyMonkey |
|---|---|---|
| Breadth of question types | Eight types | 15+, including matrix and Likert, ranking, slider, click map and file upload |
| Response quotas | A response limit that refuses anything past the cap — but the survey is not closed automatically and nobody is told it filled up | Quotas from Advantage upward |
| Response allowance | Uncapped, with no per-response overage | 1,000 a month on Standard, then five rupees for every extra response |
| Distribution channels | A public link, an iframe embed and a plain email blast to a typed list of up to 200 addresses — one shared link, so no per-recipient tracking; no SMS and no QR | Weblink, email invitations, embed and QR, with SMS and an offline app on Premier |
| Depth of analysis | Per-question distributions, NPS and a response-over-time series | Dashboards, crosstabs and significance testing, gated to Advantage and above |
| Exporting the raw data | CSV export, always available | No export at all on the free tier; CSV, XLS, PPT and PDF from Standard |
| Anonymity with duplicate control | Anonymous responses plus one-per-respondent enforcement via a one-way hash | Anonymous weblink with a one-response-per-collector setting |
| Buying respondents | None — you survey your own people | SurveyMonkey Audience, a panel of hundreds of millions |
| Where the answers live | In the same tenant database as the CRM, helpdesk, membership and event records they were collected against | A separate product — export or integrate to join it up |
Where SurveyMonkey is ahead of us today
SurveyMonkey has roughly twice the question types, including the matrix and ranking questions that serious research depends on, plus crosstabs and significance testing. Its quotas close a survey; ours only refuse the next response and tell nobody. It also reaches people properly — tracked email invitations, SMS, QR and a purchasable respondent panel — where ours emails the same link to a list someone types in.
We publish this because a comparison that only flatters us is worth nothing to you. If one of these gaps is the thing you actually need, SurveyMonkey may well be the better buy.
