VanVed vs PandaDoc
for Quotations
Why businesses choose VanVed over PandaDoc
For an Indian business these are not really the same product. PandaDoc has no concept of GST — no GSTIN, no CGST/SGST/IGST split, no HSN — so a quote it produces cannot become a compliant Indian tax invoice without retyping it somewhere else. VanVed computes the split from place of supply, validates the GSTIN, and turns the accepted quote into a GST invoice in one idempotent step, all inside a subscription that does not count users or documents.
Capability by capability
Every row below is what our 2026 research found — including the rows we lose.
| Capability | VanVed | PandaDoc |
|---|---|---|
| Indian GST on the document | CGST/SGST/IGST by place of supply, GSTIN validated, HSN/SAC per line, GST-correct totals computed server-side | None — no GSTIN field, no CGST/SGST/IGST engine, no HSN |
| E-signature | No signature. The customer clicks Accept and we record their name, email, IP and timestamp | Unlimited legally binding e-signatures on every plan, with a signing certificate and tamper-proof seal |
| Approval before a quote goes out | No approval chain — an org admin or the owner sends it | Approvers and approval order from Starter; discount-triggered conditional approvals on Business |
| Knowing the customer opened it | No view tracking — the share link records acceptance, not reading | Per-page time spent, view counts and link clicks — but only on Business and Enterprise |
| Quote becomes an invoice | Yes — one idempotent step to a GST invoice that carries the accepted tax and discounts across | No invoicing layer; it hands off to an accounting integration |
| Revisions | Numbered revisions with the previous one marked superseded and kept | Version control exists; templates capped at 5 on Free and Starter |
| Product catalogue on lines | Lines pull from your own inventory items, or you type them free-form | Pricing tables and quote builder — Business plan and above only |
| What you pay | Part of the organization subscription; no per-user charge and no document limit | $19/user/mo Starter, $49/user/mo Business before analytics or pricing tables; no INR pricing published |
Where PandaDoc is ahead of us today
PandaDoc is a genuine proposal system and we are a quotation form. It signs: unlimited legally binding e-signatures on every plan, with a signing certificate and a full audit trail, while our 'acceptance' is a click on a link with an IP address logged next to it. It routes for approval before anything reaches a customer, including approvals triggered by the discount on a line. It tells you the customer spent ninety seconds on the pricing page. We do none of that. The quote does now render as a real PDF and can be pushed to the customer over WhatsApp, but our Send button still only flips a status.
We publish this because a comparison that only flatters us is worth nothing to you. If one of these gaps is the thing you actually need, PandaDoc may well be the better buy.
