VanVed vs Keka
for HR
Why businesses choose VanVed over Keka
For a small Indian business the price difference is the story: Keka's entry plan starts around ₹6,999 a month with paid implementation on top, while VanVed's whole platform — HR, attendance, payroll, leave, approvals and the non-HR modules — sits on a ₹529 plan. The employee record itself carries the things an Indian SMB actually uses day one: branch, biometric enrolment id, pay basis and custom fields.
Capability by capability
Every row below is what our 2026 research found — including the rows we lose.

| Custom fields | Yes — per-org definitions, admin-managed from the HR settings screen | Yes |
| Department / designation / location masters | No — department and role are free text typed per employee, so two spellings become two departments | Yes, structured org masters |
| Confirmation, transfer and exit workflows with letters | A probation end date and a Confirm action, and nothing else — no transfer, no exit clearance, and no letter generation at all | Yes — confirmation, transfer and exit clearance run as tracked tasks with generated letters |
| Visual org chart | Yes | Yes |
| Employee document storage with versions and e-signature | Yes — versioned, access-logged, expiry reminders and a token e-sign link, linked to the employee | Yes |
| Biometric device enrolment on the record | Yes — device user id on the employee, matched against incoming punches | Yes, via device integrations |
| Entry price for a 30-person company | ₹529/month for the platform, HR included | From about ₹6,999/month, plus a one-time implementation fee |
Where Keka is ahead of us today
Keka's core HR is built around employee lifecycle transactions — confirmation, transfer, exit clearance — each a tracked task with a generated letter. VanVed tracks a probation end date and can mark someone confirmed, but there is no transfer or exit process, nothing chases a confirmation that is due, and there is no letter generation of any kind. Keka also keeps department, designation and location as structured masters; VanVed stores department and role as free text on each employee, which degrades every grouped report the moment two people spell it differently.
We publish this because a comparison that only flatters us is worth nothing to you. If one of these gaps is the thing you actually need, Keka may well be the better buy.
What VanVed's HR module does
- Employee records
One record per employee, shared by attendance and payroll.
- Leave requests
Requested, approved or rejected, feeding into attendance.
- Pay records
Base pay, bonuses and deductions add up to each person’s net pay. Statutory payroll runs (PF, ESI, PT) are the Payroll module.
